I enjoyed Oli, and her bonds (except for Nox, and I will get to that). And the whole reverse harem dynamic is normal for gifted society, so its not taboo in this series. Blood tests point you in the direction of your bonds. How gifted people finds their bonds (or mates), is not something stumbled upon, but scientific. For an urban fantasy, set in our world, the "magic" system and politics felt unique.
